Album: "Killakingdom" Artist: "The Handz of Time"

Available at Killakingdom.com

Killakingdom is the debut Album for The Handz of Time. Just read that sentence over a couple of times before we continue. This piece is hard to criticize. From a production standpoint, the beats have a very unique sound and are not typical of maybe any album underground or otherwise I've heard, Which is much to say being that the artist produced the whole album...every song! Not that we haven't see a mc/producer before, but this is ridiculous. That being said it is not the strongest aspect of the album, the lyrics are. The Handz of Time is truly a unique lyricist. He takes you no where you expect to go. He breaks many common rules to making an album, for instance, there are no breaks between songs, no talking, no club banger song, no songs glorifying drugs, or gangs, and no annoying references to dead rappers. I know what your thinking...soft-core, yeah right! The songs go in many directions and at his hypest he can go toe to toe with any battle mc.

This is not really a battle mc's album though. Traditionally battle cats can't belt out an interesting album, they are tailored for mixtapes. There are songs where the Handz shows off such as "M-City" but for the most part this is very diverse for an album entitled "Killakingdom". I was very impressed. The only weak link to this album is The handz of Time's lack of flow, at least a continuos one. There are points from song to song where you might not even be sure your listening to the same artist. This is so minimal, I actually thought about writing it for awhile, mainly because Killakingdom is on many levels, a masterpiece! It is very brave to do an album with zero featured artist and he does pull this off. A sign of greatness.

Best songs- personally this is an album I can listen to without feeling like I want to skip songs. "Name of the Rose" is an amazing song, a fresh beat paired with original storytelling at its best. If you like poetic songs "A Thief" is lyrically a masterpiece.

A real standout here is a song called "Tyrany's Tearz" it completely shifts the feel of album. If your looking for the hypest tracks "Hustle","Kingdom","Weather", & most definitely "M-City."

"Mc Real 2009"

RATING: FUTURE (4)

Mc Real is our First Reviewed Artist from the Uk & I must say I hope he is not the Last, I've always thought Uk Artist in General have kept a firm Grasp on what Hip-Hop is meant to be not just Music Wise but Graffiti, etc as Well. That Being said this review is really about The Self entitled "Mc Real 2009" Album. I'd like to start from a production standpoint, this album Is very "Uniformed" All the Beats seem very much like they Belong on the same album. The album Goes in a very Uniform Direction as well, it seems to go from Easy soft beats & flows to Crazy Flows on Slighty Faster paced more Edgy Beats! Some of these Beats Remind me alot of Slept on Bronx Rapper NINE, Who happens to be a favorite of Mines, this is not to say Mc Real sounds anything like Nine but the Moods found on this album are very similar in my opinion. This especially seemed evident to me in a song Called "ScallyWag."

Mc Real really stands out thanks to his Flow which seems very diverse, Kind of crazy at times but none the less on point. I must say He is Lyrically very tight, I did notice a reuse of similar words that rhyme together, but as long as they are not "Cat" and "Hat" I will let this slide.

This is definitely Worth a listen at the very Least! The strongest Tracks to me are definitely "Knife Attack," "ScallyWag," and the very Balsy "Commercial Non-Sense" (with a bit of shots at 50 cent and Slick Rick...hmm?)

If there is one thing I got from listening to this Piece of crap, (just kidding) its that this Group knows about supply in demand, so I think as a group the Name "The Supplierz" is very fitting. This Group is Composed of Two rappers, Obese The Prophet & Aye-Jacks, how fitting those names are I don't really know. The Supplierz do supply A very tight production, all the beats seemed very consistent with "Whats hot" right now, as a matter of fact Their overall flow and style is as well. I have to say I was impressed! Im pretty confident if this group keeps it up they won't have too much trouble finding a market for their music. So this is definitely a group not to sleep on. Now Lyrically I was not really blown away by either Obese or Aye-Jacks but thats not say in any way that they are whack Lyricist. Their Strong suits seem to be writing Hooks, so good actually that Im having trouble trying to single out songs as the best for me on the album, so instead of telling you the standouts I suggest that you give the whole album a listen. I recommend this for the modern day Hip-hop fan, if your an Underground Hip-Hop head this album Doesn't really have an "Underground" feel to me, but definitely peep it Regardless. I would like to say this album's Five points of Weakness but actually I can only think of one Real weakness, I suggest the Group Spend some kind of Money or Effort on "Image." Their visual media is very lacking with Amateur artist Pics & An Album Cover that I feel does not do them any favors.
